Abstract :
Data from the ETL ground-based Fourier Transform Infrared Radiometer (FTIR) were taken during the FIRE II (Coffeyville, Kansas, 1991) and PROBE (Kavieng, Papua New Guinea, 1993) experiments. In this paper calibration problems encountered during the two experiments are discussed. The FTIR spectral measurements are compared with model (FASCODE) predictions. The model agrees with the measurements with a maximum uncertainty of 8 K of the equivalent brightness temperature
