Abstract
A theoretical and experimental investigation is made to determine the feasibility of transmitting analog video signal over fiber at 1.3 µm. Effects of LED current and optical modulation index on various parameters such as second and third order intetmodulation, and differential gain (DG) and differential phase (DP) were evaluated. Preemphasis effects on signal-to-noise ratio (S/N) and DG and DP were also presented. Experimental results were in close agreement with theory.
