Abstract :
Summary form only given. An electron linac was constructed to demonstrate electron acceleration using the Vp×B mechanism in vacuum. High-energy electrons accelerated by the Vp B mechanism were observed. The energy gain of the Vp×B linac is 50% higher than that of the conventional linac. The energy gain increases with the applied magnetic field until the trapping condition breaks down
