Abstract
The distortion of a pulse or signal, caused by dispersion, as it propagates along a layered, cylindrical, dielectric waveguide is investigated. Computed dispersion diagrams of the phase constant and numerical integration are used to compute the shape of dispersed pulses having square and Gaussian envelope shapes. Numerical results are presented for several cases, demonstrating the effect of structure parameters on the dispersion distorted signals.
