Abstract :
The paper proposes a rotational dielectric-dome antenna scanning a beam with constant gain over a wide-angle range. The dielectric-dome profile is successfully designed by introducing optimization techniques which are based on secondary patterns radiated from the dome surface in addition to ray analysis of the geometrical optics (GO). It is numerically confirmed that the dielectric-dome antenna with a primary array realizes wide-angle operation up to 70°, keeping the gain constant.
