Abstract :
This contribution outlines the design of an automated inspection system for convex metallic surfaces. The reflectance of the objects of interest can neither be described as lambertian nor as specular. Thus, common profilometric or deflectometric measurement methods can not be applied. Alternatively, an approach of Laser Scanning Profilometry is considered. From the distortion of a projected line shaped laser pattern, surface defects are found using an Eigenvalue based three-dimensional line fitting algorithm.
