  • Abstract
    Two fibre optic based systems with potential for structural monitoring have been presented. One system is capable of multiplexing and demultiplexing up to 32 point temperature or strain sensors which can be Fizeau/Fabry Perot interferometers or Bragg grating sensors or any combination of the two. The second system is a distributed sensor based on Brillouin gain/loss which offers unprecedented sensing range with the capacity of simultaneously measuring temperature and strain
