Title :
Control of hybrid processes using SPC
Author :

Abstract :
As part of its long-term drive for quality improvement, Mitel has used SPC (statistical process control) as a major process improvement tool, both with suppliers and throughput its own hybrid line. The authors describe the philosophy and implementation strategy used and provide examples by case study from several different processes. It is pointed out that elimination of defects in processing has improved costs, reduced variability in the planning cycle, and caused the customers to receive quality product-on time. These improvements are also significant in supporting Mitel´s move to just-in-time manufacturing methodologies where process stops and variability are unacceptable.<>
