Abstract
Following to fault occurrence, piloting operators of automated production system (APS) have to manage complex sequences of actions to keep the system in an available state. To assist them, we propose an approach based on artificial intelligence planning (AIP). The idea is to design tools capable to provide decision about reconfiguration procedures necessary to react to faults. AIP algorithms are used in a large scale of domains. They allow generating sequences of actions able to move a certain world from an initial situation to a goal situation. In this paper we illustrate feasibility and interest of using such techniques in order to automate the reconfiguration procedure by some preliminary results.
