Abstract
The microsystem described in this paper measures the intensity of a bright spot on a dark background and uses this measurement to control a LCD display. The approach presented uses massively-parallel analog processing making local decisions based on global information. This approach has previously been used for brightest spot position detection and texture motion measurement. In the present application, a decision circuit is used for spot intensity measurement. This decision circuit also allows the testing of each cell of the sensor array.
