Abstract :
General use digital cameras have almost completely taken over film based ones. They are now found in commercial products such as cell (mobile) phones and laptop computers. One of the problems that some inexpensive digital cameras have is the long time delay that exists when one presses the shutter and the time it takes to see an image captured in the camera´s display. With this in mind, the contrast enhancement method proposed in this paper relies on an approach that can improve the contrast based on a simple and fast algorithm. Examples showing the benefits of the proposed method are shown.
