Abstract :
This work is a continuation to parameter studies of balanced antipodal Vivaldi antenna (BAVA) to achieve broadband, electronically scanned arrays (ESA). Numerical simulations to evaluate the transformation of single polarized (SP) doubly-mirrored balanced antipodal Vivaldi antenna (DmBAVA) into a dual-polarized (DP) array are presented. Scan performance shows the widest bandwidth known for DP-DmBAVA antennas while maintaining SP-DmBAVA´s superior features; reduced-height (~lambdaHighest-Frequency/2), more than octave bandwidth, wide scan-angle and modular elements
