Abstract
This paper presented the VSWR characteristics of the common mono-conical antenna (MCA), the sphere-loaded mono-conical antenna (SL-MCA), the dielectric-covered mono-conical antenna (DC-MCA) and the SLDC-MCA. The radiation patterns of the SLDC-MCA at different frequencies were also simulated. In conclusion, this study suggested that this kind of antenna holds sufficient potential as a small-sized and wideband antenna for broadband applications
