Abstract :
In applications of SMPSs for portable electronic equipment, simple structures that offers battery backup capability, power factor correction and good dynamic response are highly appreciated. This paper describes a novel and simple DC-UPS structure, which offers excellent characteristics in terms of cost, size and efficiency, taking into account the reduced number of components. Results of an experimental prototype built to verify the proposed converter operation are also included
