Abstract :
This paper presents a global overview of the state of the art techniques in active power filters and reactive power compensation. The presentation and the subdivisions of these power system conditioners, presented in this paper, show the merits and drawbacks of each type and technique used. This is important for design engineers and researchers in power quality to enable them to select the correct system for their specific applications
