Abstract
A new zero-voltage-switching controlled high-power-factor power converter suitable for a DC uninterruptible power supply is proposed. A control method for achieving zero voltage switching (ZVS) without auxiliary switches is examined. ZVS operations and power-factor characteristics in the power converter are analyzed and verified experimentally. A power-factor of 0.99 and conversion efficiency of 88% were measured using a bread-board circuit
