Abstract
This paper examines the performance of the cascaded doubly-fed induction motor using vector control to see if the closed rotor circuit dynamics have any significant effect. The experimental results are presented. For applications such as variable speed wind power the control of active and reactive power is important. The results indicate that these quantities can be controlled independently. The influence of the extra dynamic effects due to the closed rotor circuit is shown to be minimal
