Abstract :
The author discusses interim and long-term approaches to intersystem networking. Several interim solutions have been identified and are being offered to provide validation, call deliver, and hand-off for cellular users. It is projected that implementation of more sophisticated system interface standards which will allow `seamless´ operation between cellular, landline, and other communications systems will be the next step. A figure representing the cellular SS7 network of the future is presented
