Abstract :
The next generation of mobile data terminals (MDT) can incorporate a combination of modern packaging techniques, microcomputer hardware and software environments, and system architecture technologies. The authors explore a practical mixture of these advances as applied in MDT products and systems based on land-mobile radio. Emphasis is on advances in display technology, removable mass storage media, computer hardware, software development and application environments, and continually upgraded signaling methods
