Abstract :
A microstrip-fed dual-band Hilbert slot antenna is proposed for GPS and Bluetooth/WLAN application in portable handheld terminals. A third order Hilbert slot printed on 0.813 mm thick Duroid 5880 substrate (εr=2.2) operates at 1.575 GHz and 2.45 GHz. A second order Hilbert slot maintains the dual-band performance with significant improvement in bandwidth. The bandwidths at the GPS and WLAN frequency bands are 4.8 and 2.7%, respectively within S11 of 10 dB.
