  • Abstract
A 10 GHz all-optical switch based on an ultrafast nonlinear interferometer (UNI) was demonstrated and an extinction ratio of 11 dB was obtained. The UNI is composed of a traditional single-arm interferometer (SAI) and a semiconductor laser amplifier (SLA), which is used as a nonlinear component. By virtue of the structure of the SAI, long-lived refractive index nonlinearities do not affect the achievable data
