Abstract :
The telecom network is on the verge of a massive transformation. Telecom networks that were designed in the POTS-era must be upgraded to deliver Internet-age services. This transformation is taking place on multiple fronts - in the access plant that connects customers to the network, in the central office (CO), and in wireless networks - as service providers move from predominantly voice-based services to so-called "triple-play" services involving voice, data, and video. Amidst this change, the implications for marketing DC power systems are profound.
