Abstract :
NEBS Level 3 criteria have been applied to copper compression lugs and splices for power and grounding. NEBS Level 3 is currently the most stringent test of a power connector. Using copper compression lugs and splices that meet NEBS Level 3 requirements helps ensure dependable performance at the lowest installed costs. The purpose of this paper is to describe NEBS testing and how NEBS Level 3 has been specifically applied to copper compression electrical lugs and splices for use in the telecommunications industry.
