Abstract :
In this paper we present statistical researches, how influences the surfaces roughness of the magnetically susceptible soil on low-frequency magnetic response from the electrically highly-conducting underground object. Data, used for statistical investigation, are obtained by means of numerical simulation. Electromagnetic problem is solved using method of auxiliary sources for the electrically highly-conducting object placed in magnetically susceptible soil with rough surface. GEM3 sensor is modeled as excitant in the electromagnetic problem. Different models of rough surfaces with axial-symmetry are considered. Surfaces models are constructed based on piecewise defined by polynomials fifth order spline, which interpolates set of equidistant radial points with random heights. The probability density function of low-frequency magnetic response is built a priori based on results related to different cases of surface roughness.
