Abstract
Within this contribution two different simulation techniques, namely, a 1d transmission line method and a numerical 3d field simulation of a ground penetrating radar including the antenna structure, the soil and the buried object are compared with respect to the achievable accuracy when the height of different buried objects is to be determined
