Abstract
This paper provides experimental and implementation details for a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) cube antenna. Twelve dipole antennas with baluns are printed on six FR-4 printed-circuit-boards (PCB) forming a cube with volume less than 0.5 lambdao 3. Experimental results show that additional metallic strips configured on both sides of the PCB between two dipole antennas can improve antenna isolation significantly. The cube antenna exhibits an impedance bandwidth (VSWR les 2) of 27.14%. Measured radiation patterns and peak gain of the cube prototype are also provided. The MIMO cube capacity is found to be 55.9 b/s/Hz for a signal-to-noise ratio (SNR) of 20 dB for our prototype
