Abstract :
A broadband microstrip-fed slot antenna is proposed for UHF applications. Its measured impedance bandwidth reaches 85.3% for VSWRles3, covering the frequency range from 390 MHz to 970 MHz. Backed by a cavity, the antenna achieves 5.5-7.5 dBi gain and has a compact structure, with the dimension of only 0.48lambda1 times 0.30lambda1 times 0.13lambda1 (lambda1 is the longest wavelength in the operating bandwidth)
