Abstract :
Effective monitoring and control strategies are essential to maintaining a high level of power system and plant performance. This paper outlines how this aim can be achieved through the integration of a number of expert systems techniques. A case study of the use of each technique in this domain is given, demonstrating the specific advantages and drawbacks of utilising each technique. The paper concludes by discussing the subsequent benefits of integrating the described techniques.
