Abstract :
Distinctive features of high-voltage systems of generator and radiating antennas, that we developed, are: highest possible working voltage and electric field intensities in dielectric media of generator and antenna, limited from above by electric strength of dielectric media; possibility to connect small-size forming low-impedance output device of generator to antenna ports through fast-acting high-voltage switches; radiating helix antennas for forming low-impedance output device of the generator are long lines which wave impedance is essentially more than inner impedance of forming device. Conic helix antennas, working in the mode of practically axial radiation, connected with their one end (from the broad part) to plane low-voltage shield, and with their another end (from the narrow part), through conductor located on antenna axis, -to high-voltage output of low-voltage forming device of the generator, are, from our point of view, the most suitable for high-voltage generators with low inner impedance. Evaluation has shown that helix antennas are superior to TEM-horns in efficiency of radiation of short pulses, obtained with help of low-ohmic forming devices. Expected level of working pulse voltage on used helix antennas is more than 500 kV.
