  • Abstract
The author describes how the University of Glamorgan has one of the largest networks of franchised partnerships within the UK and dominates the franchising operations in Wales. This involvement in franchising began almost five years ago and was greatly encouraged by the Welsh Office as a major educational initiative to spread and enhance the educational opportunities throughout the principality. For the year 1995/96, the University of Glamorgan franchise network will involve over twenty educational institutions in Wales alone. This will involve approximately 800 full time students and about 1600 part time students on 24 courses all a range of levels from HNC upwards. Every department of the University is involved with franchising to a greater or lesser extent
