Abstract :
In this work, a performance comparison of expanded differential voltage controlled oscillators for no-resonant local clock generation and distribution networks is presented. The analyzed oscillators are designed and fabricated using an Austriamicrosystems 0.35 μm CMOS process. The experimental results show that the expanded one-stage oscillator presents the best trade-off in frequency, power consumption, and output voltage; therefore, this oscillator represents an attractive alternative for the design and implementation of no-resonant local clock networks.
