  • Abstract
We present a new battery-free RFID sensor which can be used as a node of a low cost sensor network. It can be used to detect either temperature and gas concentration, depending on the choice of the sensitive element. Its main features are a low consumption, a temperature sensibility range from 0 to 70°C with a maximum reading distance of 7 m and an ammonia detection sensibility range from 0 to 10 ppm with a distance of 14 m. The circuit was layouted on ST Microelectronics 0.13 μm CMOS technology on a surface of 0.076 mm2.
