  • Abstract
We proposed the localization method using iterative AOA (angle of arrival) method sharing snapshots of coherent subarrays (Kawakami et al., 2009), alternative to GPS (global positioning system) that is unavailable indoor or underground. This method improves localization accuracy without increasing elements of antenna arrays, and thus the lower costs and smaller devices are expected. However, the localization accuracy of this method depends on source location, and it is not as good as expected, because we did not compose the optimal virtual array. In this paper, we research what composition shows good localization accuracy. Simulation results show that the composition based on virtual element can estimate AOA more accurately.
