Abstract :
Conventional CNC system is no longer suited to modern manufacturing system, reconfigurable CNC system has become the research focus recently. This paper introduces a new reconfigurable Fieldbus-based CNC system with an open architecture that offers interoperability and portability, presents the Mechatrolink-II fieldbus for the CNC system, analyses the implementation by adopting component models in detail, and explicates the CML mechanism for components communication management. Finally, a comparative experiment based on a 4-axis CNC system has been carried out to exhibit the reconfigurable CNC system based on fieldbus.
