Abstract :
It is shown that if the distance between the elements of equidistant arrays of near-omnidirectional radiators is increased from 0.5 to one wavelength, it is possible to increase the directivity D and to reduce the width of the main lobes of the pattern of an antenna array in comparison with the same characteristics of a continuous antenna at a comprehensible level of side lobes. The studied effects can be increased by arranging the radiators above the screen at a height greater than a quarter of the wavelength.
