Abstract
Self-scheduling is a dynamic and adaptive loop scheduling approach to reduce the total execution time for a task running in the cluster or grid environment. Here, a novel scheme - ACSS (adaptive chunk self-scheduling scheme) is proposed to achieve the load balancing and reduce the scheduling overhead. That approach runs the data transfer and data processing tasks in parallel by multiple threads mechanism to reduce the waiting time firstly, and then it adjusts scheduling parameters dynamically based on the nodepsilas performance to achieve better load balancing. The experimental results show that our approach can significantly result less total execution time than other similar ones.
