Abstract

The EMI/EMC field came into practice in this country as far back as 1978. The DRDO labs have been following these standards in one form or other ever since that time. Besides the DRDO labs, public sector undertakings and ISRO organizations are also following these standards. In India these standards are regulated and controlled by the JEMCAB from 1984. The services follow these standards finalized by the JEMCAB which are taken into consideration while placing supply orders. While the standards and specifications have to be followed there must be a way to arrive at these standards realistically to fit in a given environment. This paper highlights some of these issues and presents a way to arrive at meaningful solutions in complex environments
