Abstract
This paper presents a fine-grained parallel processing technique applied to the transient and steady state analysis of electric power systems containing linear, nonlinear and time varying elements. This approach is based on the application of the parallel processing platform named OpenMP. This work presents five test cases that show the advantage of using the proposed technique compared with traditional sequential techniques.
