Abstract :
This paper presents an estimation of the near field of an aperture antenna having a cosine over pedestal type of excitation from the spectral domain approach. The plane wave spectrum at any plane is found from the field distribution at the aperture plane in the spatial domain. The inverse Fourier transform of the spectrum enables an evaluation of the near zone field as well as the reconstruction of the aperture field
