  • Abstract
A new infinitely variable transmission based on an orbital pulley OP-IVT with fixed horizon is proposed. The OP-IVT consists of two parallel transmission systems, a sprocket-chain system and a V-belt continuously variable transmission. The kinematic analysis is performed to obtain the transmission rate. The most outstanding advantage of the OP-IVT, is that it can achieve forward, reverse and geared neutral with half sided pulley displacements. Experimental results are presented which validate the efectiveness of our proposal.
