Abstract :
In this paper the authors consider the radio propagation in the shadow region of a circular cylinder which is assumed a perfect electric conductor (PEC). A line source parallel to the cylinder is considered. Thus the problem is equivalently two-dimensional (2D) and the cylinder can be represented by a circle in the following discussions. The propagation mechanism involved is mainly creeping waves going around the cylinder surface and scattering in all directions.
