Abstract :
This paper investigates the performance limitations due to intermodulation distortion of broadband optical single side band/subcarrier multiplexing (OSSB/SCM) with optical carrier partially suppressed. It is demonstrated that the partial suppression of the optical carrier increases the intermodulation distortion of OSSB/SCM systems resulting in an overall system performance degradation when intermodulation is the dominant noise source
