            Abstract : 
Employ the longitudinal field method and some manipulations of (dyadic) vectors to derive the coordinate-free expressions for electromagnetic fields of an arbitrary oriented electric dipole in the presence the bi-anisotropic layer. The method is also effective to give the coordinate-free expressions when the exciting source is a magnetic dipole.
