Abstract
A modified Sierpinski fractal broadband antenna for multiband application is investigated, simulated, and measured in this paper. The perturbed fractal patch and the modified groundplane are employed to obtain the wider bandwidth at the resonance frequencies. The implemented antenna, with nearly omnidirectional radiation pattern, has been designed with a total dimension of 50.8Ã69Ã1.6 mm3. According to the measured results, it can be seen that the antenna resonated at the expected low frequencies and the return loss with bandwidths below -10 dB are 0.75-1.03 GHz and 1.42-2.15 GHz. It covers all the GSM, WCDMA, CDMA2000 and TD-SCDMA bands.
