Abstract :
In this paper, the detailed antenna configuration as well as the feeding network design is presented in Section II. The antenna performance for linear polarization is shown in Section III, while the performance for circular polarization is given in Section IV. A novel polarization reconfigurable array antenna is proposed and fabricated. Measured results validate the performance improvement in port isolation and cross polarization level. The antenna can operate with vertical and horizontal polarizations at the same time and hence realize polarization diversity. By adding a polarization switch, the antenna can provide either RHCP or LHCP radiations. A total of four polarization modes can be facilitated with this antenna array and may find applications in new and up-coming wireless communication standards that require polarization diversity.
