Abstract
This paper presents a new method for synthesizing a Maxwellian incident tapered beam with a dominant polarization. The method is based on filtering the spectrum of a non-Maxwellian Gaussian beam that was computed from the paraxial approximation. Results are shown for a prescribed TMz polarization
