Abstract
Zinc oxide (ZnO) thin films are very promising candidates for applications in emerging thin-films transistors and solar cells. In this paper, low cost sol-gel spin coating technique was used to fabricate the ZnO films on glass substrates. The sol-gel fabrication process of the ZnO films is described. The influence of ageing duration in the spin coating process on the material properties of the ZnO films was investigated by atomic force microscopy (AFM) and ultraviolet-visible (UV-VIS) spectroscopy. The experimental results reveal an improvement of the ZnO films with longer ageing duration in the sol-gel spin coating process.
