Abstract :
We demonstrate an L-band fiber laser based on nonlinear four-wave mixing effect. The laser produced can be tuned across 1565 nm to 1610 nm, which is the entire wavelength range of the tunable bandpass filter used in the setup. The laser produced has no significant power decay at the upper wavelength limit of the tunable bandpass filter. This means the laser wavelength tuning range is only limited by the component used in the setup and it can be potentially tuned further e.g. into U-band region.
