Abstract :
In Kerr medium the self-phase modulation of nanosecond laser pulses under quasi-stationary self-focusing is studied. Computations are carried out for additional phase lag, instantaneous frequency and spectrum of pulse. The results of computation and obtained experimental data prove existence of the transition effect, which gives rise to new spectral components on exit boundary of Kerr medium. The spectral components arising due to the transition effect have predominantly Stokes shift up to -100 cm-1 relatively laser frequency
