Abstract :
A low cost shorted-patch antenna suitable for GSM900 (890-960 MHz) and GSM1800 (1710-1880 MHz) base station application is presented. The antenna has two elements operating at 900 MHz and 1800 MHz independently. The antenna is fed by a 50 ¿ microstrip feed line and a T-junction. Each element has a pair of shorting plates of proper width to achieve good impedance matching. The substrate of the microstrip feed line and the patch is air, and the cost of the material is reduced.
